COVID-19

In order to create a safe space for our staff and clients, we ask that everyone please wear a mask. If you have symptoms of covid-19, are feeling unwell, or have come in contact with anyone who has recently tested positive for covid-19, we ask that you please reschedule. If you have recently received a covid-19 vaccination, it is important to leave a two week window in between your vaccination date and any microblading or permanent cosmetic services. As it affects your immune system, it will also affect your healing. This is for your benefit.

MICROBLADING + COSMETIC TATTOO

What is Microblading?

-Microblading refers to a specific technique, in which the pigments are inserted into the skin manually with a "blade" comprised of a row of tiny needles, rather than with a machine. Microblading mimics natural hair growth patterns and has a more natural effect than traditional eyebrow tattooing done with a machine that mimics the appearance of makeup.

How does it differ from a regular tattoo?

-The difference lies in the depth at which we implant the ink into the skin. In microblading we only want to reach the top of the dermal layer of the skin. This depth allows us to see clean lines as well as warm and rich tones leaving a natural result. This also allows the pigments to fade over time. Traditional tattoos are planted deeper into the skin.

Are the pigments safe?

-Yes. The pigments used at the studio are a glycerine based formula made exclusively for use with cosmetic tattooing. They are free of heavy metals and tartrazin. They are also vegan and never tested on animals. MSDS available.

How long does microblading last?

-This varies from person to person, based on a few different factors (activity level, sweating, oiliness of skin, sun exposure, skin care routine, how well you follow the aftercare instructions).  After your initial sessions, a touch up is recommended every 12-24 months.

How painful is it?

-This also varies from person to person but for most it is minimal discomfort. You will be numbed during the service and after most compare the sensation to a mild sunburn which only lasts a few hours.

Can you do my brows if I got them done somewhere else previously?

-Corrections are taken on a case by case basis. Pictures will have to be submitted prior to making an appointment and will be evaluated.  In some cases removal will be required before any adjustments can be made to your brows.  Results are not guaranteed.

Its there anything else I should know before my appointment? Anything I should or shouldn't do?

-Your appointment will need to be made a minimum of two weeks after receiving botox treatments, a minimum of one month before any trips to the beach, or periods of high activity. It is also not recommended that you schedule your appointment close to any special events as you will be going through a healing period and it is a two step process. Also try to schedule your appointment around your cycle. If it's that time of the month you may be more sensitive to pain!   Please discontinue use of any products that contain retinol 3 weeks before your appointment. Stay out of the sun leading up to your appointment, if you are burned we will have to reschedule. Stop consumption of any supplements that contain fish oil 3 weeks before your appointment. No alcohol or aspirin 24 hours prior to appointment. Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment. Drink lots of water leading up to your appointment, hydrated skin is healthy skin! Contradictions include: under 18, uncontrolled blood sugar, pregnancy or breastfeeding, blood thinners, Accutaine, steroids, active skin cancer, chemotherapy (consult doctor). If you have recently received a covid-19 vaccination, you must have a two week window in between your vaccination date and your appointment.  If you have any questions please reach out.

What should I expect right after, and the days following my appointment?

-Immediately after, your brows will be slightly darker and more pronounced. The final result will be much more subdued so it is important that you be patient and let the healing process take its course. Trying to scrub pigment off or use any substances to increase fading may lead to infection and possible scarring. Around the four to five day point you will notice the surface layer gently flake away, as the skin is healing.  An initial touch up is always scheduled to check for color retention, symmetry, and to make sure you are happy with the result. Two initial appointments are required but more may be necessary to achieve the desired result. As with any tattoo or cosmetic procedure, everyone's body may react differently and results are not guaranteed.

EYELASH EXTENSTIONS

How are eyelash extensions applied?

-To apply the lash extensions, your lash artist will carefully isolate each and every one of your natural lashes using a tweezer tool. Once a natural lash is isolated, the artist will place a single lash extension or hand made volume lash fan on top of one of your natural lashes using a tiny amount of lash glue. This process is repeated until a lash extension has been placed on most of your natural lashes.

Are your lash artists properly trained?

-Yes. Our lash artists undergo a rigorous in-house training/apprentice program under our master lash artist before they are allowed to work on live clients. Typically, our artists train under and shadow the master artist for 6-9 months before taking their own clients.

Does the process of getting lash extensions hurt?

-No. The process of having lash extensions applied should not be painful if it is done carefully and properly. You will be laying down on a lash bed with your eyes closed for the entire service. Some clients feel comfortable enough to fall asleep.

Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?

-If the lash extensions are applied properly and you do not pick or pull at them when wearing them, your natural lashes will not get damaged. We make sure that you receive a proper lash application which includes full natural lash isolation and using a very small amount of adhesive.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

-Lash extensions can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks. For classic lash applications, most clients come back to get a lash fill at around 2 weeks. For hybrid and volume lashes, most clients come back at 3 or 4 weeks.

What if I have an allergic reaction to the adhesive?

-Although allergic reactions are very rare, there it still a small chance of having one. If you have a reaction, we simply bring you back into the studio and remove your lash extensions by using a gel that dissolves the lash glue. Once the lash extensions are off and the glue is dissolved, your reaction will subside within a day or two.

What kind of lash adhesive do you use?

-We use Xtreme Lashes FlexFusion lash adhesive, which is one of the safest adhesives on the market. It’s main active ingredient is a high/medical grade cyanoacrylate, and it is manufactured in an FDA approved facility within the US. Xtreme Lashes FlexFusion adhesive has a very low rate of allergic reaction compared to other adhesives on the market.

How do I take care of my lash extensions?

-Lash extensions are fairly low maintenance. You must avoid steam, high heat, oils/creams, and makeup removers. You should also avoid picking at or pulling on the lashes. You should wash your lash extensions every day with a lash wash and soft bristled makeup brush.

What is a lash lift?

A lash lift is in short a perm for your eyelashes. It typically lasts about 6-8 weeks as each lash sheds roughly every 28 days. You will notice the effects slowly lose intensity as the curled lashes shed and the new straight lashes grow in. It is recommended to schedule your appointment at minimum every 8 weeks to keep your lashes healthy and to avoid over lapping, and over processing.

OTHER BROW SERVICES

What is brow lamination? Am I a good candidate? Brow lamination is a relaxer for the brows. It tames unruly brows and allows us to control the direction at with the hairs will lay. This service is best for people with unruly brows, or brows with longer hair. Short and sparse brows will not get as dramatic of a result.

What is a henna brow application?

-A henna brow application starts by assessing your brows, eyes and face shape. Once we determine what brow shape would best compliment your face, we sketch an outline of the shape onto your brows. We then mix a custom colored henna paste (based on your skin and hair color), and apply it to your brows using an angled precision brush. After 15-20 minutes, the paste is removed with water. The henna darkens your brow hairs and tints the skin where it has been applied. The result is a beautifully defined yet natural looking brow. Most of our clients who wear henna brows feel that they no longer need to fill in their brows with makeup.

How long do henna brows last?

-Henna brows last anywhere from 1-3 weeks on the skin, and 3-4 weeks on the brow hairs.

Are henna brows ideal for everyone?

-No. Henna brows are not ideal for clients who have very oily skin.

Could I be allergic to henna?

-There is a very small chance of allergic reaction to henna. If you are prone to allergies and concerned about this, we are able to perform a complimentary patch test on your wrist before applying the henna to your brows.

What if the henna turns out too dark for my liking?

-If you do not like your henna brow look, we are able to tone down the look of the henna by using a tint remover and exfoliating the brows.

CRYOSKIN

What is cryoskin?

The cryoskin treatment is a fat reduction and skin tightening treatment. Through the use off alternating heat and subzero temperatures as well as vasodilation and vasorestriction, to trigger apoptosis in fat cells.

What is apoptosis?

Apoptosis is cell death. When fat cells are exposed to cold they will crystallize and die. They are then purged from the body via the lymphatic system, the 14 days following treatment.

What is the difference between cryoskin and Coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting uses suction to focus on the target area. This can lead to shelving of fat cells and can be painful. It can take up to 12 weeks to see results. Cryoskin is performed manually with a wand. Since the wand is always in motion, the treatment is less uncomfortable for the client. There is less risk for negative side effects. Results are instantaneous.

Who is a candidate for cryoskin?

Anyone who is actively trying to lose fat and wants to target certain problem areas. Anyone looking to reduce cellulite, firm and tighten skin.

Who is not a candidate for cryoskin?

Anyone with severe Reynauds Syndrome, allergy to cold, lower limb ischemia, bacterial or viral infections of skin, active eczema - rash - dermatitis in desired treatment area, irremovable piercings in treatment area, known allergy to propylene glycol, pregnant or breast feeding, cancer, uncontrolled diabetes, severe kidney or liver disease.

Are results permanent?

Cryoslimming results are typically permanent with diet and exercise.

Cryotoning and Cryofacial results are not permanent but are cumulative. The more sessions received, the longer the results last.

Results from 5 sessions typically last 3-4 months. With older clients results may last up to 2 months. For best results, maintenance visits are recommended.
